Designed to respond to moisture, the textured surface temporarily darkens when water comes into contact. As the moisture evaporates, it gradually returns to its original appearance—creating a quiet interaction between material and everyday use.
Crafted from a solid plate of 6061 aluminum, this coaster reinterprets the visual language of traditional hammered metal through CNC machining and laser texturing. A carved cellular landscape creates a subtle interplay between satin aluminum and an ultra-matte surface.
Like all untreated aluminum, the surface will gradually develop a subtle patina through use. Minor variations in tone, marks from handling, and the natural aging of the material are considered part of the object's evolving character, making each piece unique over time.
Care
Rinse with water and wipe dry with a soft cloth.
For deeper cleaning, wash gently with mild soap and warm water. Avoid abrasive pads, harsh cleaners, or polishing compounds, as these may alter the surface texture and finish.
As with all untreated aluminum, subtle changes in tone and the development of a natural patina may occur over time. These changes are considered part of the material's evolving character.
