The Studio
100 Lab is a mix of design and hands-on making. We’re here to bridge the gap between branding and building, making sure a brand’s identity is something you can actually feel in the real world, not just see on a screen.

From custom objects to furniture and shop builds to graphic identities, we don’t just sketch out ideas—we engineer them from the ground up to make sure they work.

The Concept
May 2023

Inspired by the Japanese low bench, this design honors the "Ma" or negative space found below the eye level. By keeping the silhouette grounded, it emphasizes the openness of a room. The piece features a modular inlay system, using the contrast between solid oak and stone to create a quiet, adaptable anchor for minimalist interiors.
The Craft
CNC, Hand craft, Laser Engraving

The fabrication prioritizes a seamless, continuous form. Using solid white oak, we employed waterfall joinery to wrap the grain uninterrupted around mitered edges. The central recess is precision-milled to house a flush-mounted marble slab, which is designed to be easily swappable with different stones or materials to evolve with the space.
The Perspective
Calm

This design is an intentional shift in focus, valuing the empty space above the furniture to create a sense of calm. Through its interchangeable material inserts, the bench moves beyond a static object into a versatile platform—balancing traditional Eastern spatial values with a modern, customizable approach to fabrication.

The Process

Every project begins with material curation. For the low bench, we explored the dialogue between the warm, linear grain of European Oak and the cool, erratic veining of natural marble. By testing different stone and timber combinations, we ensure that the final piece maintains a balanced, minimalist presence while offering the flexibility of a modular surface.

Starlink - Quick Start Guide / Instruction
June 2023

This project was focused on creating a seamless onboarding experience for the Starlink satellite system. The goal was to distill a complex technical installation into a wordless, intuitive visual language. By prioritizing clarity and spatial flow, we developed a quick-start guide that allows users across the globe to deploy the hardware with total confidence, regardless of language or technical background.
On-site opporations
Design

Working on-site at Starlink, we integrated directly with their engineering and hardware teams. The workflow was a fusion of high-level industrial design and technical illustration; we translated complex CAD assemblies from SolidWorks into refined vector systems using Adobe Illustrator. Every angle, line weight, and perspective was engineered to ensure that the physical hardware and the illustrated steps felt like one cohesive ecosystem.
100 / LAB

In the "Lab," we treat instruction design as an extension of the brand's product architecture. For Starlink, this meant maintaining a futuristic, minimalist aesthetic that feels as advanced as the technology itself. By valuing the white space on the page as much as the line work, we created a guide that mirrors the efficiency of the satellite dish—functional, sleek, and built for a global audience.

Space X - Instruction
Sept  2023

The design for the SpaceX handheld torch focuses on communicating technical safety with absolute clarity. Using a dark-mode aesthetic that aligns with the Starship visual identity, we turned a standard operating manual into a sharp, utilitarian guide that feels as high-performance as the tool itself.
The Design

We translated complex mechanical assemblies into high-fidelity vector diagrams to illustrate ignition and refilling procedures. By referencing industrial CAD data, we created precise exploded views and technical layouts in Adobe Illustrator, ensuring every line weight served the purpose of user safety and mechanical accuracy.
100 / LAB

We view technical documentation as a critical brand touchpoint. For the Starship Torch, the goal was to ensure the user experience remained premium even during the most functional steps. By applying a minimalist lens to complex instructions, we maintained a cohesive design language from the product hardware to the printed page.

The Concept
March 2022

The identity for Taberu began with a personal request: to center the brand on the owner’s son. We took this family sentiment and distilled it into a clean, iconic character that captures the joy of a first bite. By housing the illustration within a minimalist "house" silhouette, we created a signature mark that symbolizes both the home-style warmth of the kitchen and the structural precision of the yakitori they serve.
The Integrated System
Logo, Lockups,  QR integration

Once the character was finalized, we built a modular system designed to live across every brand touchpoint. We developed a series of adaptive lockups that integrate vertical Japanese typesetting with modern, bold typography. This allowed the brand to transition seamlessly from a digital Instagram grid to high-contrast, tactile packaging—ensuring the "Taberu" boy remains a consistent, recognizable guide through the entire dining experience.
The Perspective

At the Lab, we believe the best branding feels personal but acts professional. For Taberu, the development process was about refining a human likeness into a scalable graphic system. This project showcases our ability to translate a client’s emotional vision into a functional brand architecture—proving that even the most playful characters can support a high-end, cohesive restaurant identity.

We translated a personal family story into a full-scale visual system, using real-world mockups to bridge the gap between a concept and a finished product. By visualizing the brand across everything from packaging to digital feeds, we gave the owner a clear look at how the identity actually functions in the wild—providing the clarity and visual proof needed to move the project forward with confidence.
